About the Sprint

The UX sprint at Evonic Industries was a one-week intensive project focused on solving a critical challenge in the plastic manufacturing and recyclate procurement process. Our task was to explore ways to enhance operational efficiency in sourcing recyclates—processed plastic materials that manufacturers reuse in production.

Long Term Goal

Our Solution envisions revolutionising resource management by pioneering an innovative system focused on high value plastics, aiming to close the loop and maximise material value.

Create a platform like craigslist for plastics that caters to the needs of converters, compounders and recyclers.

Target Users

Converters:

Predict demand and place orders of the processed material to produce plastic products.

Compounders:

Bid on order demands, process and deliver recyclate material

The Solution

The Solution

The Solution

  1. Order Form

Converters (buyers) create an order request when they need raw materials. Compounders (sellers) then bid on the order, offering their prices. This ensures competitive pricing and transparency in procurement.

  1. Dashboard

The home screen provides an overview of key metrics like sales, production, profits and order status (fulfilled, in progress, finished). It also includes AI driven predictive analysis to help businesses forecast future demand and optimize procurement.

  1. Inventory

A dedicated inventory management screen helps users track stock levels in real time. It also sends alerts when restocking is required, preventing shortages and ensuring smooth operations.

  1. Bids Page

The bids page displays all offers from different sellers, allowing buyers to compare prices and select the best deal. This streamlines negotiations and helps businesses secure cost-effective and timely procurement.

Customer Feedback

Business Safety

All buyers and Sellers must be verified and terms and conditions of the trade must be set to ensure business safety.

Additional material details are needed to assess their properties, durability, and suitability for the application.

Advanced Technical Parameters

Customer support will be necessary for the product to ensure smooth user experience and issue resolution.
